Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Water Ready SA collects and what we do with it, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

This site has no forms and no accounts, and browsing it does not require you to give us anything. It is a set of static pages served by Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard request logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the service.

If you email us, for example to claim or remove a listing, we receive your email address and whatever you write: usually your name, your role at the business and a phone number.

Why we collect it

We use what you send us to answer your email and to verify claims on business listings. We contact you about that request and nothing else.

How long we keep it

Emails are kept in our inbox for up to 24 months, then deleted. Ask us if you want yours deleted sooner.

Free website check

The free website check is run on DigiBannister's own website, not on this site. What you enter there is handled under that site's privacy policy.

We do not sell your information.

Business listings

The business listings on this site use contact details that businesses have published themselves, such as on their own websites and public directories. We process them on the basis of legitimate interest, to help people find and compare businesses. If you want a listing changed or taken down, see remove a listing.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to our processing of it. Email duncandlb@gmail.com and we will respond.

If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa), the supervisory authority, at inforegulator.org.za.
